Welcome to Wayfinder Recovery Coaching

My name is Katherine Reynolds, and I’m the founder of Wayfinder Recovery Coaching.

What Is Recovery Coaching?

Recovery coaching is a powerful, client-centered partnership that supports individuals navigating addiction, mental health challenges, and major life transitions. Unlike therapy, which focuses on clinical treatment and diagnosis, recovery coaching is forward-focused and action-oriented. It’s about having someone by your side—someone who gets it—to walk with you, support your goals, and help you reclaim your life on your terms.

At Wayfinder Recovery, my coaching approach is deeply rooted in unconditional support, radical compassion, and zero judgment. As someone who has walked this path myself, I bring not only professional training but also lived experience to every session. I know how important it is to feel seen, heard, and accepted exactly as you are.

My services are intentionally designed to be high-touch and highly flexible. I offer:

  • 24/7 support for when life hits hard and you need someone in your corner

  • Integrated care, collaborating with your therapist, doctor, or family (if desired) to create a true circle of support

  • Flexible scheduling—because healing doesn’t always fit neatly into a calendar

  • A space where all goals are valid, whether you’re exploring abstinence, harm reduction, or just trying to survive the day

Whether you're newly sober, seeking support around mental health, or reimagining what recovery looks like for you, I'm here to walk beside you. This isn’t about fixing you—it’s about helping you find your way, your strength, and your next step.

The Power of Trained and Certified Peer Support

Peer support is more than just shared experience—when provided by trained and certified professionals, it becomes a powerful, evidence-based approach to healing and recovery.

As a certified recovery peer advocate, certified addictions recovery coach, and internationally certified family recovery coach, I bring both lived experience and professional training to help individuals and families navigate addiction, mental health challenges, and life transitions. Certified peer support providers are equipped with specialized knowledge in motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, crisis de-escalation, and recovery planning—all grounded in empathy, respect, and hope. My status as a credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor in training provides a background in clinical education, but my true passion is providing peer support.

Research has consistently shown that peer support:

  • Improves engagement and retention in treatment

  • Reduces hospitalizations and relapse rates

  • Enhances hope, self-efficacy, and quality of life

  • Strengthens social connectedness and community integration

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), peer support services “extend the reach of treatment beyond clinical settings into the everyday lives of those seeking to recover.” When offered by trained providers, peer support is recognized as a best practice in recovery-oriented systems of care (SAMHSA, 2023).

The National Institute on Drug Abuse also highlights the value of peer recovery support services as a critical tool in bridging gaps in the continuum of care and empowering people in recovery to sustain long-term success.

At Wayfinder Recovery, I go beyond traditional peer support by offering integrated care coordination, flexible access, and a trauma-informed, nonjudgmental approach that centers your needs and goals. I meet you where you are—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—and walk beside you every step of the way.

To make recovery support as accessible as possible, I offer in-person sessions in your home or a community location of your choosing within Dutchess, Putnam, or Westchester County (NY), or Fairfield County (CT). Virtual sessions are also available for anyone, anywhere.

Disclaimer:
Recovery coaching is a non-clinical, peer-based support service and is not a substitute for therapy, medical care, or other licensed treatment. It is intended to complement—not replace—clinical services. For best results, recovery coaching is most effective when used alongside appropriate mental health, medical, or substance use treatment.
